With the Minor League Hockey Season underway, the Ottawa 67’s are ready to drop the puck! The 67’s are an independent affiliate of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). In fact, the OHL is one of the three leagues in the Canadian Hockey League along with the Quebec Major Junior League and the Western Hockey League. The 67’s, who last won the Memorial Cup in 2001, have been playing in the OHL since 1967. The team also recently played in the 2019 OHL Finals, but ended up losing to Guelph Storm. The 67’s currently play in the East Division (Eastern Conference) along with the Hamilton Bulldogs, Oshawa Generals, Kingston Frontenacs, and Peterborough Petes.

The 67’s have been playing their home games at TD Place Arena since 1967. Speaking of TD Place Arena, the 9,500-capacity arena is actually located below the grandstand for TD Place Stadium (home of the CFL’s Ottawa Redblacks). The downtown venue is about a 20-25 minute drive from Canadian Tire Centre (home of the NHL’s Ottawa Senators). In fact, the stadium is about a 2.5-hour drive from Montreal (home of the NFL’s Canadiens, MLS’ CF Montreal, and CFL’s Alouettes). TD Place Arena is pretty much the only professional hockey rink to be located underneath a major football stadium. The team’s main mascots are Riley the Raccoon and Big Joe the Lumberjack.
