The History of Ottawa Senators Hockey at Canadian Tire Centre
With the NHL Hockey season underway, the Sens are ready for puck-drop! The Senators have been playing home games at Canadian Tire Centre since 1996. Speaking of Canadian Tire Centre, the venue can hold at least 18,000 hockey fans in capacity. The team’s venue is about a 15-20 minute drive from Downtown Ottawa (home of CFL’s Redblacks). Canadian Tire Centre was formerly known as the Scotiabank Place from 2006 until 2013.
The Senators reached the 2007 Stanley Cup Finals, but lost to the Ducks in five games. Ottawa recently played in the 2017 Eastern Conference Finals, but lost to the eventual champion Penguins in seven games. The Sens are looking for their first postseason berth since 2017.
