Surprise Stadium (Rangers/Royals) Food Menu

The History of Royals & Rangers Spring Training in Surprise

With the Spring Training Cactus League Season underway, the Kansas City Royals and Texas Rangers are ready to play ball! Both teams have been training at the Surprise Stadium since 2003. Speaking of Surprise Stadium, the venue also serves as the home for the Surprise Saguaros of the Arizona Fall League. The ballpark is notable for being the second Cactus League stadium to host two teams after Peoria Sports Complex (1994).

Surprise Stadium is about a 20-25 minute drive from Peoria Sports Complex, the Spring Training home of the San Diego Padres and Seattle Mariners. The Surprise ballpark is also about a 25-30 minute drive from Camelback Ranch, the Spring Training home of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago White Sox. Since the Royals came to the stadium in 2003, the team won the 2015 World Series and played in the 2014 Fall Classic. Meanwhile, the Rangers won their first World Series in 2023 and reached the MLB Finals two other times (2010 & 2011).
