The History of Phoenix Suns Basketball at Footprint Center
With the NBA Basketball season underway, the Phoenix Suns are ready for tip-off! The Suns have been playing at the Footprint Center since 1992. Speaking of Footprint Center, the venue can hold nearly 16,000 fans in capacity. The team’s venue is located in Downtown Phoenix (home of the MLB’s Diamondbacks). In 2021, the Suns reached the NBA Finals for the first time since 1993. In fact, Phoenix has been to seven Western Conference Finals appearances since 1989. Footprint Center is also the home of the WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury, who won three WNBA championships (2007, 2009, 2014). The venue was formerly known as Talking Stick Resort Arena (2015-2020) and U.S. Airways Center (2006-2015).
