With the NHL and NBA seasons underway, the Dallas Mavericks/Stars are ready to play! The teams have been playing home games at the American Airlines Center since 2001. Speaking of the American Airlines Center, the venue can hold nearly 20,000 fans in capacity. The teams’ venue is located in Downtown Dallas (home of the Reunion Tower). American Airlines Center is also about a 20-25 minute drive from Arlington (home of the MLB’s Texas Rangers and NFL’s Dallas Cowboys).
The Stars last won the Stanley Cups in 1999, while the Mavericks claimed the NBA Championship in 2011. The Stars reached the Stanley Cup Finals in 2000 and 2020, while the Mavericks advanced to the NBA Finals in 2006. American Airlines Center hosted the 2007 NHL All-Star Game, the league’s first such event since the labor dispute the wiped out the 2004-2005 season as well as the 2006 Torino Olympics.
