The History of Maple Leafs Hockey/Raptors Basketball at Scotiabank Arena
With the NHL and NBA seasons underway, the Toronto Maple Leafs/Raptors are ready to play! The teams have been playing home games at Scotiabank Arena since 1999. Speaking of Scotiabank Arena, the venue can hold nearly 20,000 fans in capacity. The teams’ venue is located just a couple blocks from the CN Tower and Rogers Centre (home of the MLB’s Toronto Blue Jays). Scotiabank Arena is also about a 5-7 minute drive from BMO Field (home of the CFL’s Toronto Argonauts and MLS Soccer’s Toronto FC).
The Maple Leafs last won the Stanley Cup in 1967, while the Raptors won the NBA Championship in 2019. The venue was formerly known as Air Canada Centre from 1999 until 2018. The Toronto arena will host the upcoming 2024 NHL All-Star Game in early February.
