The Peach State is one of sports fans’ must go-to places to see a baseball game and visit themed museums. Georgia has many college and professional teams that play throughout the entire state. In addition, the Southern destination is one of the most recommended vacation spots in the United States. Now many people are wondering: Does Georgia have any baseball museums or restaurants to visit? Luckily, for the sporting community, the Peach State has over a dozen baseball attractions to choose from. Baseball Museums in Georgia

Georgia Sports Hall of Fame (Macon)
  • Location: 301 Cherry St, Macon, GA 31201
  • Distance from Atlanta: 1.5-Hour Drive
  • The building is located very close to the Harriet Tubman Museum in Downtown Macon. The Georgia Sports Hall of Fame Museum has a collection of teams that focus on Baseball, Football, Basketball, and even Hockey. The venue also showcases the history of the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta.

  • The Ty Cobb Museum honors one of baseball’s greatest hitters of all time. Believe it or not, the Georgia native is 2nd all-time on the MLB hits (4,189) behind Pete Rose.

Monument Garden (Atlanta)

  • The museum is located in the home plate concourse (ground level) at Truist Park, and it focuses on the Braves’ franchise history from their move to Georgia in the 1960s to today. The one-of-a-kind experience is a must-visit for Atlanta fans and sports enthusiasts in general. 
  • Top Exhibits: Hank Aaron Statue, Number 755 (Aaron’s Home Run Total) Stacked with Dozens and Dozens of Baseball Bats, World Series Trophies, Uniform History, Rocky Water Fountain Displays, Player Award Trophies, Retired Numbers, Championship Pennants
  • Days of Operation: Every Braves home game from the entry gates opening to the stadium closing following each contest.

Braves All-Star Grill (Atlanta)

  • Distance from Downtown Atlanta: 15-20 Minute Drive
  • The Braves All-Star Grill is situated at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport in Concourse D. The eatery previously had another location in Downtown Atlanta, but it has permanently closed as of 2022.

MURPH’s (Atlanta)

  • The baseball restaurant, owned by Two-Time NL MVP Winner Dale Murphy, is located in the Cobb Galleria Centre. MURPH’s has an authentic turnstile from Wrigley Field that the former Braves player acquired during a Chicago road trip in 1989. Most importantly, fans can walk to the venue from Truist Park by taking a bridge over U.S. 285.
