List of Baseball-Themed Attractions in Florida

The Sunshine State is one of sports fans’ must go-to places to see a baseball game and visit themed museums. Florida has many college and professional teams that play throughout the entire state. In addition, the Southern destination is one of the two homes for MLB’s Spring Training (along with Arizona). Now many people are wondering: Does Florida have any baseball museums or restaurants to visit? Luckily, for the sporting community, the Sunshine State has over a dozen baseball attractions to choose from. Baseball Museums in Florida

Tampa Baseball Museum (Ybor City)
  • Location: 2003 N 19th St, Tampa, FL 33605
  • Distance from Downtown Tampa: 5-10 Minute Drive
  • The building was the former home for Cleveland Indians Manager Al Lopez, who was the 1st Tampa native to be inducted to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York. Lopez also led Cleveland to the 1954 World Series, but lost to the New York Giants.

Tampa Bay Rays Museum (St. Petersburg)
  • Location: 1 Tropicana Dr., St. Petersburg, FL 33705
  • Distance from Tampa: 30-35 Minute Drive
  • The museum is located in the left field concourse (ground level) at Tropicana Field, and it focuses on the Rays’ franchise history from their inception in 1998 to today. The new offering replaced the Ted Williams Hall of Fame Museum at centerfield, which closed permanently in 2021. 
  • Top Exhibits: Chasing Pennants (Home of the Two American League Trophies from 2008 and 2020), Hello Big Leagues (Devil Rays Debut), Rays Greats Clubhouse (Fred McGriff, Wade Boggs, Carl Crawford), TB Rays Cave (Player Awards like the Cy Young and Rookie of the Year on Display)

The Bobblehead Museum (Miami)

  • The one-of-a-kid experience is located in the home plate concourse at LoanDepot Park, and it has the collection of bobbleheads from teams not just the Miami Marlins

Schrader’s Little Cooperstown (St. Petersburg)

  • Schrader’s Little Cooperstown is actually a huge exhibit that is located at the St. Petersburg Museum of History. The experience has over 5,000 autographed baseballs on display, all collected by Florida native Dennis Schrader. 
  • Top Highlights: Guinness World Record for Most Autographed Baseballs Collected (2011), Women in Professional Baseball, Negro Leagues, Legends of Baseball (Ty Cobb, Joe DiMaggio, Jackie Robinson), Tampa Bay Rays, Celebrities Autographed Baseballs Signed by the Following: B.B. Avron B. Fogelman Sports Museum (Boca Raton)
  • Location: 777 Glades Rd, Boca Raton, FL 33431
  • Distance from Miami: 1.0-Hour Drive
  • The South Florida Museum was developed by Boca Raton native Avron B. Fogelman, who was the owner for the Kansas City Royals during the 1980s. During his tenure, the Royals won their first World Series title in 1985. Fogelman had a large collection of baseball memorabilia as well as other sports gear like basketball, football, and Olympics.

Hot Dog Hall of Fame® (Orlando)

  • The Hot Dog Hall of Fame® is located at CityWalk™ at Universal Orlando Resort. The outdoor eatery is behind the BigFire Restaurant (the entire area is on the left side of CityWalk™). Anyway, the Hall of Fame eatery has stadium-style seats as well as picnic tables.

Shoeless Joe’s Sports Café (Fort Myers)
  • Location: 13051 Bell Tower Dr, Fort Myers, FL 33907
  • Distance from Hammond Stadium (Twins Spring Training): 7-10 Minute Drive
  • Shoeless Joe’s Sports Café is located in Fort Myers, which is the only Florida city to host two Spring Training teams: Minnesota Twins, and Boston Red Sox. The restaurant serves food on a baseball plate and the eatery is decorated with baseball memorillaba that ranges from Spring Training to Minor League clubs (Fort Myers Miracle/Mighty Mussels). Most importantly, the establishment was named in honor of early 1900s slugger Shoeless Joe Jackson (who was considered one of the greatest hitters despite being banned from baseball for his role in the 1919 Black Sox Scandal).

  • Capogna’s Dugout is located in the area that is in-between Downtown Clearwater and the Clearwater Mall. The restaurant is decorated with baseball and other sports memorabilia, and the rooms have over a dozen television sets where customers can watch multiple events.

  • Lenny’s is one of the most popular breakfast eateries in Pinellas County. During Spring Training, the outdoor windows would be painted with Phillies drawings. In addition, the inside has memorabilia that originated from the Philadelphia baseball club as well as the Toronto Blue Jays (who play in Dunedin just about 15 minutes from Clearwater).
