The History of Tigers Baseball at Comerica Park
With the Major League Baseball (MLB) Season underway, the Detroit Tigers are ready to play ball! The Tigers have been playing at Comerica Park since the early 2000’s. Speaking of Comerica Park, the venue hosted the 2005 All-Star Game along with the Home Run Derby. The ballpark is adjacent to Ford Field (home of the NFL’s Detroit Lions). Comerica Park is also located a couple blocks away from Little Caesar’s Arena (home of the NHL’s Red Wings and NBA’s Pistons). Since the Tigers moved to their current home in 2000, the team played in two World Series appearances in 2006 and 2012. Detroit also played in four American League Championship Series appearances: 2006, 2011, 2012, 2013. The ballpark is notable for having a Ferris Wheel (smaller scale) and a carousel located in the venue.
