The Bees are an Independent Baseball Team for the Prospect League (College Summer Baseball Organization). In addition, Burlington plays in the Great River Division for the West Conference. The Bees were a Single-A farm club for the Los Angeles Angels (2013-2020) and Oakland Athletics (2011-2012). As part of the MLB’s Minor League reorganization in 2020, the Burlington franchise became an independent baseball club.

The Bees have been playing their home games at Community Field since the 1940’s. Speaking of Community Field, the 3,000-capacity ballpark is located not far from the Illinois/Iowa state line. In fact, the stadium is also about a 2.0-hour drive from Davenport, IA (home of the Minor League Baseball’s Quad Cities River Bandits). The Bees are one of the two former MiLB professional baseball teams in the state of Iowa along with the Clinton LumberKings. The team’s official mascot is Buzz the Yellow Bee.
