The History of Winnipeg Blue Bombers Football at IG Field
With the CFL Football Season underway, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers are ready for kick-off! The Blue Bombers have been playing at IG Field since 2013. Speaking of IG Field, the venue can hold at least 30,000 fans in attendance. The Blue Bombers football venue is about a 15-20 minute drive from Canadian Life Centre (home of the NHL’s Winnipeg Jets). IG Field is also about a 20-minute drive from Shaw Park (home of Winnipeg Goldeyes Independent Baseball). The Blue Bombers last won a Grey Cup championship in 2019, their first such title since 1990. IG Field was the neutral site of the 2015 Grey Cup Championship Game along with the 2016 NHL Heritage Classic (Jets vs. Oilers).
