The ThunderBolts have been playing their home games at Ozinga Field since 1999. Speaking of Ozinga Field, the 6,000-capacity ballpark is about a 1.0-hour drive from Chicago (home of the MLB’s Cubs/White Sox, NHL’s Blackhawks, NBA’s Bulls, and NFL’s Bears). In fact, the stadium is also about a 35-40 minute drive from Joliet, IL (home of Frontier League’s Joliet Slammers). The venue was formerly known as Standard Bank Stadium from 2008 until 2018. The team’s main mascot is Boomer the Blue Monster.
