Who Are the Wilmington Blue Rocks? What League Do They Play in?

With the Minor League Baseball Season (MiLB) underway, the Wilmington Blue Rocks (based in Wilmington, Delaware) are ready to play ball! The Blue Rocks are a High-A Team affiliate of the Washington Nationals. In addition, they play in the North Division for the High-A East League. The Blue Rocks have been a farm club for the Nationals since 2021. The Minor League Team previously partnered with the Kansas City Royals from 2007 until 2020. Wilmington’s franchise was named after the fact that there are blue granite rocks located within the Brandywine Creek near the downtown area.

Where do the Wilmington Blue Rocks Play their Home Games? Who is the Official Mascot?

The Blue Rocks have been playing their home games at Daniel S. Frawley Stadium since 1993. Speaking of Daniel S. Frawley, the 6,000-capacity ballpark is located in Wilmington near the Christina River. The venue is named after Daniel S. Frawley (who was the Mayor for Wilmington from 1985 until 1993). The ballpark is also the home of the Delaware Sports Museum and Hall of Fame. Daniel S. Frawley Stadium is about a 2.0-hour drive from Washington D.C. (home of the MLB’s Nationals, NHL’s Capitals, NBA’s Wizards, and WNBA’s Mystics). The team’s official mascot is Rocky Bluewinkle
