Now that the 2022 MLB Season is almost here, now is the time to start speculating in terms of which General Managers (GM) will be on the hot seat. Even though 2022 Opening Day is not long from now, it’s never too early to evaluate each GM’s situation entering the new season. First, let’s reveal which general managers appeared to be safe from the hot seat:

GMs that are SAFE from the Hot Seat in 2022

Jerry Dipoto (Mariners)

  • Came Within 2.0 Games out of a Wild Card Spot in 2021
  • Acquired INF Eugenio Suarez & OF Jesse Winkler from Reds in the Off-Season

Ross Atkins (Blue Jays)

  • Came Within 1.0 Game out of a Playoff Spot in 2021
  • Acquired RHP Jose Berrios in Last year’s Trade Deadline

Alex Anthopoulos (Braves)

  • Won 1st World Series Championship Since 1995
  • Back-to-Back NLCS Appearances for 1st Time Since 1995-1999
  • Signed RHP Kenley Jansen in the Off-Season

Rick Hahn (White Sox)

  • 1st AL Central Division Title Since 2008
  • Consecutive Playoff Appearances for the 1st Time in Franchise History
