With the Minor League Hockey Season underway, the Syracuse Crunch are ready to drop the puck! The Crunch are an AHL club of the Tampa Bay Lightning. In addition, they play in the North Division for the Eastern Conference. The Crunch have been a farm team for the Bolts since 2012. The franchise previously partnered with the Ducks (2010-2012) and the Blue Jackets (2000-2010). Since the 2011-2012 season, the Crunch have played in two Calder Cup Finals appearances (2013, 2017) along with six playoff trips.

The Crunch have been playing home games at Upstate Medical University Arena since 1994. Speaking of Upstate Medical University Arena, the 7,000-capacity arena is located in Downtown Syracuse (home of Triple-A Baseball’s Mets and Syracuse Orange). The venue is about a 1.5-hour drive from Rochester, NY (home of the Minor League Baseball’s Red Wings and AHL’s Americans). Upstate Medical University Arena is also about a 2.5-hour drive from Buffalo (home of the NHL’s Sabres, NFL’s Bills, and Minor Baseball’s Bisons). The team’s main mascot is Crunchman the Superhero.
