The History of Seattle Mariners Baseball at T-Mobile Park
With the Major League Baseball (MLB) Season underway, the Seattle Mariners are ready to play ball! The Mariners have been playing at T-Mobile Park since 1999. Speaking of T-Mobile Park (formerly known as Safeco Field), the venue hosted the 2001 All-Star Game along with the Home Run Derby. The ballpark is located next to Lumen Field (home of the NFL’s Seahawks and MLS’ Sounders FC). T-Mobile Park is also about a 10-15 minute drive from Climate Pledge Arena (home of the NHL’s Seattle Kraken). Since the Mariners moved to their current home in 1999, the team played in two American League Championship Series appearances: 2000 and 2001. T-Mobile Park has also witnessed the most no-hitters in the MLB since 2010.
