Taylor Hall, 2018 NHL MVP, Traded to Bruins in 3-Player Deal

Just hours before the NHL Trade Deadline was set to expire, it appeared that one lucky team received a star player. Darren Dreger of TSN first reported that the Buffalo Sabres have traded LW Taylor Hall and RW Curtis Lazar to the Boston Bruins. Dreger also said that Buffalo will receive the following in return from Boston: LW Andres Bjork and a 2021 2nd Round Draft Pick.

Why Did the Sabres Trade Taylor Hall?

Buffalo decided to trade Hall because of the team’s rebuilding efforts. The Sabres recently fired head coach Ralph Kruger in midst of the club’s long winless streak. Also, Taylor Hall will become a free agent at the end of the season. Meanwhile, the Bruins acquired Hall to bolster the team’s offensive core along with Patrice Bergeron, David Pastrnak, and Brad Marchand.

What Was His Tenure with Buffalo Like?

Taylor Hall joined the Sabres on a one-year deal after spending the previous season with the New Jersey Devils and Arizona Coyotes (2019-2020). For the 2020-2021 season with the Sabres, Hall scored just two goals along with 17 assists (19 points).
