Who Are the Rocket City Trash Pandas? What League Do They Play in?

With the Minor League Baseball Season (MiLB) underway, the Rocket City Trash Pandas (based in Madison, Alabama) are ready to play ball! The Trash Pandas are a Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels. In addition, they play in the North Division for the Double-A South League. The Trash Pandas have been an affiliate for the Angels since 2017 when the team was known as the Mobile BayBears. The Mobile franchise relocated to Madison to become Rocket City in 2020. The team got the name “Rocket City” due to the community’s association with the NASA Space Center in Huntsville.

Where do the Rocket City Trash Pandas Play their Home Games? Who is the Official Mascot?

The Trash Pandas have been playing their home games at Toyota Field Since 2020. Speaking of Toyota Field, the 7,000-capacity ballpark is located just a couple miles from the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville. The team was supposed to begin play at Toyota Field in 2020, but the Minor League Season was cancelled due to the global health crisis. The team’s official mascot is Sprocket the Raccoon in a Trash Can.
