Who Are the Portland Sea Dogs? What League Do They Play in?

With the Minor League Baseball Season (MiLB) underway, the Portland Sea Dogs (based in Portland, Maine) are ready to play ball! The Sea Dogs are a Double-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox. In addition, they play in the Northeast Division for the Double-A Northeast League. The Sea Dogs have been an affiliate for Boston since 2003.

Where do the Portland Sea Dogs Play their Home Games? Who is the Official Mascot?

The Sea Dogs have been playing their home games at Hadlock Field since its founding in 1994. Speaking of Hadlock Field, the 7,000-capacity ballpark is located near the University of Southern Maine campus in Downtown Portland. The stadium is named in honor of Edson Hadlock, who was the baseball manager for Portland High School for over 25 years. The big red brick building located at the stadium’s 1st base side is the Portland Exposition Building (an arena that is the home of the NBA D-League’s Maine Celtics). The team’s official mascot is Slugger the Sea Dog.
