You have officially arrived at BayCare Ballpark, which is the Spring Training home for the 2025 Philadelphia Phillies. The stadium is located at Clearwater, Florida, a 30-35 minute drive from Tampa. The Phils have trained at BayCare Ballpark since 2004 after the team spent the previous 50 decades at the city’s Jack Russell Memorial Stadium. Before the current name, the stadium was formerly known as Spectrum Field (2017-2020) and Bright House Field (2013-2017). Now that the 2025 Grapefruit League season is finally approaching, the Philadelphia Phillies are seeking their 3rd MLB championship in franchise history. In fact, Philadelphia is looking to win the World Series for the first time since 2008. And most importantly, BayCare Ballpark has some exciting fan events in store to officially start off Spring Training in 2025.
Upcoming Philadelphia Phillies 2025 Grapefruit League Fan Experience:
Darren Daulton Foundation Celebrity Bartending 2025
On Saturday, March 22 at BayCare Ballpark’s left field Tiki Pavilion, the team will host a celebrity bartending session. The event runs from 4:30 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. and will include live music, food, and drinks. Here are the confirmed Phillies Bartenders: John Kruk, Larry Bowa, Ruben Amaro Jr., Larry Andersen, Jason Michaels, Danny Jackson, Chris Wheeler, and more. Please keep in mind that the annual Celebrity Bartending party is exclusive for adults only 21 years and older. Regular admission costs about $100 per person, while VIP passes are $200 per guest.
All proceeds from this experience will go towards the Darren Daulton Foundation, which focuses on helping those with brain tumors. Daulton was a 3-Time All-Star and Phillies Hall of Fame Catcher who passed away from cancer in 2017. Annual St. Patrick’s Day Game in Clearwater
One of the Phillies’ favorite Spring Training traditions is playing a home game on St. Patrick’s Day. The Ireland-themed baseball contest will take place on Monday, March 17 at 1:05 P.M. First Pitch vs. Toronto Blue Jays. All ticket holders are encouraged to wear green shirts, jerseys, and hats. The afternoon will also consist of Irish music and entertainment throughout the game day.
Phillies Spring Training Vacation Packages
Fans who want to upgrade their visit to Phillies camp can rely on the two events: the Flex Package and the Road Trip Vacation. But first, let’s talk about the Spring Vacation Flex Package (March 6-9 or March 13-16). The trip includes the guests’ choice of hotel accommodations, a special pregame breakfast, a season preview with team executives, a $25 gift card at BayCare Ballpark’s 3rd base team store, and a selection of additional game tickets.
Now, let’s move onto the Road Trip Vacations Deal. For the 2025 season, there are two options to choose from: a five-night deal (March 5-10) and the four-night package (March 12-16). Both experiences will consist of a stay at the Hilton® Clearwater Beach, “Welcome to Spring Training” Dinner, $150 per person credit at the hotel, pregame breakfast with a season preview with team personnel, escorted motor coach transportation from the hotel to BayCare Ballpark, tickets to multiple Phillies home games in Clearwater, and a $25 gift card at the 3B retail store. White the earlier trip includes an exclusive Phillies Vacations Spring Training shirt and a dinner cruise, the latter one features a farewell lunch. UPDATE: All flex and road trip packages are officially sold out for this season.
Spring Breakout Showcase 2025
A returning favorite from last year, Spring Breakout is a game that features some of the MLB’s top hitting and pitching prospects. For the upcoming campaign, the stadium will host one on Friday, March 14 at 1:05 First Pitch when the Phillies face off against state rival Pittsburgh Pirates. Some of Philadelphia’s Top 10 Minor Leaguers include RHP Mick Abel, SS Aiden Miller, OF Justin Crawford (son of former Rays All-Star Carl Crawford), and INF Bryan Rincon.
Tastes of Philadelphia at BayCare Ballpark
Phillies fans can sample the flavors from home right in Clearwater. The Home Run Grille and Strike Out Cafe (1st Base/RF) is the home for Delco’s Cheesesteaks that come with chopped ribeye beef and provolone cheese on a hoagie bun. Debuted last season, the Citizens Bank Park staple Manco & Manco Pizza opened in the first base concourse and served boardwalk style cheese & pepperoni slices. Those with a sweet tooth can purchase Philadelphia Water Ice from the portable carts with refreshing flavors like mango, blueberry, watermelon, and many more.
Cole Hamels to Play Big Role During Spring Training 2025
The 2008 NLCS & World Series MVP is returning to Clearwater this year as part of his new dual role. Hamels, who signed a one-day contract to retire as a Phillie last year, will join the team as a special guest instructor. Also, the former ace will join the TV broadcast team as a color analyst for select games during Grapefruit League action. The pitcher will partner with play-by-play announcer Tom McCarthy for home games only at BayCare Ballpark. Hamels played for Philadelphia from 2006 until 2015 and pitched a no-hitter vs. Cubs shortly before his trade to the Rangers.
Future Renovations & Village in Store for BayCare Ballpark
Back in October 2023, Phillies were aiming for a $320 million remodeling project that could see major changes to the stadium and its surrounding areas. Those improvements include an outfield swimming pool and 2,000 new seats to increase the capacity to over 10,000. In addition, the team plans to convert the adjacent 13-acre mall into a Ballpark Village filled with restaurants, retail stores, and parking garages. The new area would also feature apartments and office buildings as well as the new main entrance on Drew Street. The Carpenter Complex, the Phillies’ practice facility, would receive a performance center as part of the deal.
However, there has not been an update from the ballclub, Pinellas County, nor from the city of Clearwater since Fall 2023. Both parties are likely waiting to see what happens with the Rays’ Gas Plant District stadium pursuit in St. Petersburg. Initially agreed upon last summer, the deal appeared to be uncertain following back-to-back hurricanes that saw the damage to Tropicana Field’s roof. Even though the St. Pete City Council and Pinellas County approved their bonds for financing, the Rays have until March to decide whether to go through with the domed stadium. The hurricane damages and local government changes led to the delay of groundbreaking and the ballpark’s opening by one year to 2029. The recent events also caused the increase to the St. Pete project’s overrun costs.
