Peoria Sports Complex (Padres/Mariners): Food Menu

The History of Padres & Mariners Spring Training in Peoria

With the Spring Training Cactus League Season underway, the San Diego Padres and Seattle Mariners are ready to play ball! Both teams have been training at the Peoria Sports Complex since 1994. Speaking of Peoria Sports Complex, the venue also serves as the home for the Peoria Javelinas of the Arizona Fall League. The ballpark is famous for being the first Cactus League stadium to host two teams.

Peoria Sports Complex is about a 20-25 minute drive from Surprise Stadium, the Spring Training home of the Kansas City Royals and Texas Rangers. The Peoria ballpark is also about a 15-20 minute drive from Camelback Ranch, the Spring Training home of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago White Sox. Since the Padres came to the stadium in 1994, the team played in the 1998 World Series along with a NL Championship Series appearance in 2022. Meanwhile, the Mariners reached the ALCS three times (1995, 2000, 2001) and they are the only team that has never played in the Fall Classic. In 2022, Seattle snapped its 21-year playoff drought as a wild card team.
