The History of Oregon State Beavers Football at Reser Stadium
With the College Football Season around the corner, the Oregon State Beavers are ready for kick-off! The men in Orange and Black have been playing at Reser Stadium since the early-1950’s. Speaking of Reser Stadium, the venue can hold at least 40,000 fans in attendance. Oregon State’s football facility is about a 1.0-hour drive from Eugene (home of the Oregon Ducks and Triple-A Baseball’s Eugene Emeralds). The venue is also located on the Oregon State University campus. The school’s football stadium was named after local food store owners and Oregon State graduates Al and Pat Reser (who made donations to the Beavers athletics program).
Since its opening, the Beavers football venue has witnessed some of the greatest college football players and coaches in history. Those players are the following: Mike Reilly (head coach), QB Terry Baker (Heisman Winner), RB Steven Jackson, WR Brandin Cooks, Jonathan Smith (head coach), and many more! The men in Orange and Black last won a Conference Title in 2000 (shared). However, Oregon State has not been to a bowl game since the 2013 season.
