The History of Saints Football at Caesars Superdome
With the NFL Football/college football seasons underway, the New Orleans Saints are ready for kick-off! The Who Dat franchise has been playing at Caesars Superdome since 1975. Speaking of Caesars Superdome, the venue can hold at least 70,000 football fans in capacity. The team’s venue is very close to Smoothie King Center (home of the NBA’s Pelicans). The Saints won their first Super Bowl championship in early 2010. The domed stadium also serves as the home of the Sugar Bowl along with two NFC Championship Games (2010, 2019). Caesars Superdome recently hosted the 2020 National Championship Game (LSU vs. Clemson) and Super Bowl XLVII in 2013 (Ravens vs. 49ers). The stadium was formerly known as the Mercedes Benz Superdome from 2011 until 2021.
