With the College Football Season around the corner, the Michigan State Spartans are ready for kick-off! The men in Green and White have been playing at Spartan Stadium since the early-1920’s. Speaking of Spartan Stadium, the venue can hold at least 80,000 fans in attendance. Michigan State’s football venue is about a 1.0-Hour drive from Ann Arbor (home of the Michigan Wolverines). Spartan Stadium is also located on the Michigan State University campus. The school’s football stadium is also about a 10-minute drive from Jackson Field (home of Minor League Baseball’s Lansing Lugnuts).
Since its opening, the Spartans football venue has witnessed some of the greatest college football players and coaches in history. Those players are the following: Mark Dantonio (head coach), QB Kirk Cousins, RB Le’Veon Bell, OT Tony Mandarich, Duffy Daugherty (head coach), QB Connor Cook, and many more! The men in Green and White last won a National Championship in 1966. In fact, the Spartans have won three Big Ten Championships since 2010. Recently, Michigan State played in the College Football Playoffs during the 2015 season.
