The History of Montreal Alouettes Football at Percival Molson Stadium
With the CFL Football Season underway, the Montreal Alouettes are ready for kick-off! The Alouettes have been playing at Percival Molson Memorial Stadium since 1998. Speaking of Percival Molson Stadium, the venue can hold at least 20,000 fans in attendance. The team’s football venue is about a 10-minute drive from the Bell Centre (home of the NHL’s Canadiens). Percival Molson Stadium is also about a 2.0-hour drive from Ottawa (home of the CFL’s Redblacks and NHL’s Senators). The stadium was named after Percival Molson (a WWI Soldier and Montreal native who funded the Alouettes’ venue). Percival Molson Stadium was also used as a field hockey event for the 1976 Montreal Olympics. Montreal last won a Grey Cup championship in 2010, their 3rd such title since 2002.
