The History of Manchester United Soccer at the Old Trafford

With the Premier League (PL) season underway, the Manchester United are ready for a soccer match! The United have been playing home games at the Old Trafford since the early 1910’s. Speaking of the Old Trafford, the venue can hold at least 74,000 soccer fans in capacity. The team’s venue is about a 7-10 minute drive from Downtown Manchester. Old Trafford is also about a 10-15 minute drive from Etihad Stadium (home of the Premier League’s Manchester City FC). Since the Premier League was established in the early 1990’s, the Manchester United have won 13 PL Championships (including three straight from 2007 until 2009). The United Soccer squad also won the 2008 UEFA Champions League title vs. Chelsea. The stadium was named after Old Trafford, which is one of the suburb areas of Manchester.
