The History of LSU Tigers Basketball at Pete Maravich Assembly Center

With the College Basketball Season around the corner, the LSU Tigers are ready for tip-off! The men in purple and yellow have been playing at Pete Maravich Assembly Center since the early-1970’s. Speaking of Pete Maravich Assembly Center, the venue can hold at least 14,000 fans in capacity. The Tigers basketball venue is about a 1.5-hour drive from New Orleans (home of the NFL’s Saints and NBA’s Pelicans). Pete Maravich Assembly Center is also located on the Louisiana State University campus. The LSU Tigers basketball stadium was named after the late LSU basketball star Pete Maravich. The men in purple and yellow last reached the Final Four in 2006. Since 2015, the men’s program played in three NCAA Tournament appearances. Meanwhile, the women’s basketball squad reached the Final Four five straight seasons from 2004 until 2008.
