The 2026 Men’s World Cup has finally arrived and it lasts from June 11 until July 19. This international competition is taking place throughout North America: United States, Canada, and Mexico. Lionel Messi and Argentina are the defending World Cup champions as they defeated France in the 2022 edition in Qatar. Now, soccer fans in Toronto are wondering where is the best place to watch the World Cup games. Some of the local restaurants are offering viewing events throughout the Ontario-based city. Here are the following World Cup Watch Party locations in Toronto:
Fan Festival in Fort York
The official World Cup soccer fan experience is situated in the historic Fort York National Site, just west of Downtown Toronto. There are two main entrances: general admission at Gate 1 and premium & media at Gate 2 (both on 250 Fort York Blvd). The Fan Festival will operate on select days. The soccer matches will be shown on four viewing screens: (1) Ontario Campus behind the Main Stage, (2) near the Main Stage, (3) adjacent to the soccer team store, and (4) close to the garden pavilion. Public tours of the Fort York site will also be offered on the Ontario campus multiple times a day.
Other than the soccer watch parties, there are three attractions to choose from: Tkaronto Market, World Cup Store, and Food Offerings. First, Tkaronto offers handmade products and item samples from over a dozen local vendors not far from the Main Stage. Next, soccer fans can purchase take-home souvenirs from the World Cup store (between the viewing screen and Pitchside Terrace) ranging from pins to t-shirts and even socks. Finally, the on-site food and drink vendors will be sold on the Ontario Campus and close to the soccer merchandise store.
There is only one dedicated exit area near the Gate 2 media entrance. Restrooms are also available adjacent to the World Cup store and the Ontario Campus. Please keep in mind that the Fan Festival is free and will be open rain or shine (except for severe thunderstorms).
RendezViews
Located just a couple blocks from the Princess of Wales Theatre on 229 Richmond St W, this outdoor picnic space has the background view of the CN Tower. The viewing event is available on a first-come, first-serve basis and fans are encouraged to arrive early to secure a spot at the World Cup watch party. Soccer matches will be shown on the huge screen to the right of the picnic area.
Food stalls and bars are also available for purchase while the attendees root for soccer stars like Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. Please be aware that RendezViews has to be cleaned and cleared after the final whistle in case of high-demand games. Therefore, fans must depart from the outdoor space for game reset and re-enter for the next soccer match.
Nathan Phillips Square
Close to the Toronto City Hall on 100 Queen St W, the outdoor gathering plaza plans to host the playoff coverage for the World Cup. The soccer matches will be showcased on the main screen and fans can come on a first-come, first-serve basis free of charge. The amenities at Nathan Phillips Square will consist of the following: restrooms, outdoor chess tables, playground, fountain pool (no swimming), and a Toronto Sign photo op. Anyone who wants a bite to eat on-site can head over to the nearby Hero Certified Burgers® that serve gourmet cheeseburgers and loaded poutine fries. The restaurant opens daily from 10:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. EDT.
The Distillery District
Located just southeast of the Toronto city center at 55 Mill St, this shopping complex plans to host the World Cup viewing parties at Pure Spirits’s outdoor patio. Accommodations include at least a dozen sofas and multiple large screens. The Distillery District’s dining options feature Pure Spirits Seafood, Madrina Bar y Tapas Spanish Cuisine, El Catrin Mexican Street Food, Brick Street Bakery, and more. As with other soccer watch parties, this viewing event is free on a first-come-first serve basis. Along with the sofas/chairs, outdoor picnic tables will also be available.
