Welcome to the Pittsburgh Penguins 2026-2027 theme nights reveal! The boys from the Steel City are coming off their first playoff berth in four years. That being said, the Penguins have not won a postseason series since the 2017-2018 season. One more note is that the franchise is seeking its first division title since the pandemic-abbreviated 2020-2021 campaign. With about a month before the puck drops on opening night, the Pittsburgh Penguins officially announced their promotional schedule for the 2026-2027 season. 

PPG Paints Arena plans to include 35 theme nights and 15 fan giveaways throughout the upcoming year. Also to keep in mind is that the team is celebrating its 60th anniversary dating back to its inception in 1967. The Penguins will begin this season’s promo dates in October with the Home Opener Magnet Schedule (Oct. 3), Polish Heritage (Oct. 5), Pride Celebration (Oct. 22), IceBurgh’s Birthday (Oct. 24), and Halloween (Oct. 29).

For November, the stadium is going to host the following events: 80s Throwback (Nov. 3), Salute to Service (Nov. 5), Penguins HOF Induction (Nov. 14), Hockey Fights Cancer (Nov. 19), and Pittsburgh’s Yinzer Night (Nov. 25). Next, December will be packed with theme nights ranging from the Mike Lange Alarm Clock giveaway (Dec. 5) to Star Wars™ Mania (Dec. 6) and Home of the Holidays (Dec. 22). The second half of the promotional schedule will resume in January with the Postgame Indoor Pyrotechnics Show (Jan. 1), Mister Rogers Tribute (Jan. 3), and 2017 Stanley Cup Reunion (Jan. 31). For February, the team is going to celebrate Black History Month (Feb. 2) and the IceBurgh Loaf Pan freebie (Feb. 25).

In March, Pittsburgh will have the following in-arena events: Y2K Night (Mar. 9), St. Patrick’s Day (Mar. 11), Women in Sports (Mar. 14), and Country Takeover (Mar. 27). Last but not least, the Penguins will finish the promo schedule in April with the Asian & Pacific Islander Game (Apr. 1) and Fan Appreciation Day (Apr. 3). For complete information in terms of each game’s puck-drop times and opponents, please refer to the list below!

October 2026

Home Opener & Giveaway

• Arrive early as PPG Paints Arena plans to host a special introduction ceremony for the Pens players and coaches. 
• All fans in attendance will receive the Penguins 2026-2027 Magnet Schedule.

Pride Night

IceBurgh’s Birthday Bash

• For one night only, IceBurgh the Penguin is going to have a mascot party with his friends such as the Pirate Parrot, Steely, and more. The first 7,500 fans in attendance will receive the IceBurgh Building Blocks Set. 
• The PPG Paints Arena will host a pregame presentation on S.T.E.M. Education. Those who bought a ticket deal can get the Penguins Kids Lab Coat.

Halloween Game in the Steel City

November 2026

80s Throwback

• The franchise wants to relive the nostalgia of the 1980s, ranging from classic movies to songs from the decade. Anyone who purchased a special ticket package can get the Penguins 80s T-Shirt. 
• Also, the exclusive item of the month is available for this game: Zamboni™ Gravy Boat. Special ticket buyers have the following games to receive this Thanksgiving-themed souvenir: Nov. 3, Nov. 5, Nov. 14, Nov. 19, Nov. 25, Nov. 28, and Nov. 30.

Military Appreciation Day

• The NHL stadium plans to recognize the local veterans and soldiers from Pittsburgh. The first 7,500 fans entering the gates will get the Penguins Label pin Set, including the 60th Anniversary Logo.

Penguins HOF Class of 2026

• The team will host a pregame ceremony for the four new inductees: G Marc-Andre Fleury (2004-2017), D Larry Murphy (1990-1995), GM Jim Rutherford (2014-2021), and Founder Jack McGregor (1967-1970). The first 7,500 fans in attendance will receive the Pens HOF Mystery Bag Charms. Here is the information for each new Hall of Fame member: 
• Fleury compiled a 375-216-68 record with 44 shutouts, 2.58 G.A.A., and 0.912 Save %. He was also a 2-time All-Star and a 3-time Stanley Cup winner while he was in the Steel City. 
• Murphy scored 78 goals and 223 assists (301 points) during his time with Pittsburgh. He also served as an All-Star in 1994 and led the organization to two NHL championships in 1991 & 1992. 
• Rutherford led the Penguins to back-to-back Stanley Cup championships in 2016 and 2017. He acquired some key players for their dynasty run such as Phil Kessel (2015), Nick Bonino (2015), and Carl Hagelin (2015). 
• McGregor, who was the founder of the NHL club for its inaugural season in 1967, will be honored posthumously since he passed away in January 2026.

Hockey Fights Cancer
