Full Story on Ed Orgeron Being Fired as LSU Tigers Head Coach
With Ed Orgeron gone, now is the time for the Louisiana State University (LSU) Tigers to make a list of top candidates. In fact, the recognizable applicants could be qualified to become the team’s new head coach for the 2022 Season. LSU will fire Orgeron at the end of the campaign after six seasons and a national championship. The coach will finish out the season with the Tigers. Oregeron compiled a 49-17 overall record and 30-14 in the SEC Conference. At the time of the firing announcement, the Tigers were 4-3 overall (2-2 in the conference) during the 2021 season.
During his time in Baton Rouge, Ed Orgeron guided the LSU Tigers to the 2019 national championship (their first such title since 2007). In fact, he led the program to four New Year’s Bowl Games (2016-2019). Prior to becoming the LSU head coach in 2016, Orgeron served as the Tigers’ defensive line coach under Led Miles. He was also the head coach for Ole Miss (2005-2007) and USC (Interim for 2013).
