With Chris Sale (Red Sox) and Jon Lester (Cubs) joining the 2,000th Strikeout Club recently, which players are next in line to collect their 2,000th career Punchout? Before we can get into the active players who could be next to join the 2,000-Strikeouts Club, let’s name some of the players who are already in that club! In Summer 2016, Rangers LHP Cole Hamels recorded his 2,000th punchout during a game vs. Mariners. In May 2014, Mets RHP Bartolo Colon collected his 2,000th career big league strikeout during a contest vs. Pirates.
