25th Anniversary Celebration, Wear White Takeover, and Space City Game Part of the List of Houston Texans Game Themes 2026!
Welcome to the Texans’ official 2026 promotional schedule reveal! The NFL team is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year as it began play in 2002. The Texans are coming off their third straight playoff appearance, the longest streak in franchise history. In addition, the club is seeking its first ever trip to the AFC Conference Championship Game. But before those playoff talks begin, Houston has officially announced its 2026 game themes schedule that focuses on fan favorite events and in-game entertainment. New themes this season include the 25th Anniversary, the updated Rivalries uniforms, and She’s Next.
Reliant Stadium plans to start the promotional schedule in the preseason by hosting Play Football for youth (Aug. 13) and flag football athletes (Aug. 20). The regular season will begin in September with the Wear White Takeover on Kickoff (Sept. 13) and International Day (Sept. 20). Next, the October home games will celebrate the Texans’ 25th Season (Oct. 4) and Battle Red Matinee (Oct. 25).
For November, Houston plans to debut its revised Rivalries uniforms as part of Thursday Night Football (Nov. 19) and honor the local military (Nov. 29). The only December home game of the season is Kids Day (Dec. 20), where children and families can find interactive experiences at the stadium. Finally, the Texans will wrap up the regular season slate in January with the annual Space City competition (Jan. 10).

August 2026
Youth Football & Play Football
- The first of the two preseason home games will focus on the high school and youth football athletes.
- Date: Thursday, August 13
- Kick-Off: 7:00 P.M. Central Time
- Opponent: Los Angeles Chargers
She’s Next/Play Football
- This preseason matchup honors the growing trend of flag football for girls and ladies in the Lone Star State.
- Date: Thursday, August 20
- Kick-Off: 7:00 P.M. Central Time
- Opponent: Las Vegas Raiders
September 2026
Home Opener & White Out Takeover
- Reliant Stadium will host a special pregame ceremony paying homage to the Texans coaches and players.
- All fans are encouraged to wear white jerseys and t-shirts and the team plans to don the All-White uniforms.
- Date: Sunday, September 13
- Kick-Off: 12:00 P.M. Central Time
- Opponent: Buffalo Bills
International Day
- The Texans plan to showcase the traditions and cultures from numerous countries around the world.
- Date: Sunday, September 20

October 2026
25th Anniversary Celebration
- There will be a special ceremony highlighting Houston’s best moments in its 25 years in the NFL.
- Also, the Cowboys were the very first visiting team to face the Texans when Reliant Stadium opened in 2002.

- Kick-Off: 12:00 P.M. Central Time
- Opponent: Dallas Cowboys
Battle Red Matinee
- All ticket holders are encouraged to don their red jerseys, hats, and other clothing as the players wear their all-red uniforms.
- Date: Sunday, October 25
- Kick-Off: 12:00 P.M. Central Time
- Opponent: New York Giants
November 2026
Rivalries Game & H-Town Takeover
- New this season, the Texans will debut their Rivalries uniform for their only night game for the regular season home schedule.
- Anyone in attendance is encouraged to wear their H-Town Blue clothing.
- Date: Thursday, November 19
- Kick-Off: 7:15 P.M. Central Time
- Opponent: Indianapolis Colts
Military Appreciation Day
- In this post-Thanksgiving showdown, Reliant Stadium is going to recognize local soldiers and veterans by donning “Salute to Service” gear.
- Date: Sunday, November 29
- Kick-Off: 12:00 P.M. Central Time
- Opponent: Baltimore Ravens
December 2026
Kids in Charge
- In the final NFL contest before Christmas, the Texans will feature family-friendly games and other interactive activities in the concourse.

January 2027
Space City & Fan Appreciation
- This home finale will highlight the history of space exploration from the NASA Johnson Center.
