Full Story on Matt Nagy Being Fired as Chicago Bears Head Coach
With Matt Nagy gone, now is the time for the Chicago Bears to make a list of top candidates. In fact, the recognizable applicants could be qualified to become the team’s new head coach for the 2022 Season. Chicago parted ways with Nagy after four seasons following their season finale loss vs. Minnesota Vikings. Ryan Pace, who was the Bears’ General Manager, was also let go after six seasons. Nagy compiled a 34-31 overall record with two playoff appearances. At the time of the firing announcement, the Bears were 6-11 overall during the 2021 season. Just a couple years after Chicago had one of the best defenses in the league, 2021 was a step back for the team as they gave up at least 30 or more points in six games.
Matt Nagy’s Career with Chicago Bears & NFL
During his time in the Windy City, Matt Nagy guided the Bears to two playoff appearances. In 2018, he led the team to their first NFC North Division title and playoff berth since 2010. However, the Bears have not won a postseason game since the 2010 Divisional vs. Seahawks. The Bears are looking for their first Super Bowl appearance since 2006 and their first Super Bowl since 1985. Prior to becoming the Chicago head coach in 2018, Nagy was the QB Coach (2013-2015) and Offensive Coordinator (2016-2017) for the Kansas City Chiefs. He also served as the offense coach for the Philadelphia Eagles (2011-2012).
