The History of LA Galaxy Soccer at Dignity Health Sports Park
With the MLS Soccer Season underway, the LA Galaxy are ready for action! The Galaxy have been playing at Dignity Health Sports Park (Carson, CA) since 2003. Speaking of Dignity Health Sports Park, the venue served as the former home of the MLS club Chivas USA (2005-2014) and NFL team Los Angeles Chargers (2017-2019). The stadium is about a 15-20 minute drive from Long Beach (home of the Long State Beach Dirtbags). Dignity Health Sports Park is also about a 30-35 minute drive from Los Angeles (home of the MLB’s Dodgers, NHL’s Kings, and NBA’s Lakers/Clippers).
Since the LA Galaxy became an MLS franchise in 1996, the team won five MLS Cups (2002, 2005, 2011, 2012, 2014). In addition, they played in four other MLS Cup Finals in 1996, 1999, 2001, and 2009. Dignity Health Sports Park was previously known as StubHub Center (2013-2018) and Home Depot Center (2003-2013).
