With the NHL and NBA seasons underway, the New York Knicks/Rangers are ready to play! The teams have been playing home games at Madison Square Garden since 1968. Speaking of Madison Square Garden, the venue can hold nearly 19,000 fans in capacity. The teams’ venue is located in New York City (the only sporting venue located in the heart of NYC and not in the boroughs like Queens, Bronx, or Brooklyn).
Madison Square Garden is also about a 30-minute drive from Barclays Center (home of the NBA’s Brooklyn Nets). The Rangers last won the Stanley Cup in 1994, while the Knicks won the NBA Championship in 1973. The Blueshirts reached the Stanley Cup Finals in 2014, while the Knicks played in the NBA Finals in 1999. Madison Square Garden was previously the home of the WNBA’s New York Liberty (1997-2010, 2014-2017).
