Who Are the Kenosha Kingfish? What League Do They Play in?

With the Minor League Baseball Season (MiLB) underway, the Kenosha Kingfish (based in Kenosha, WI) are ready to play ball! The Kingfish are an Independent Baseball Team for the Northwoods League. In addition, Kenosha plays in the Great Lakes East Division for the League. The Kingfish have no prior Minor League affiliation with any MLB club. The franchise is one of the several state-based professional baseball teams along with the Milwaukee Brewers, Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, Beloit Sky Carp & Milwaukee Milkmen. Also, the Kingfish are notable for the Elvis Presley-themed promotion with multiple Elvis impersonators entertaining fans each home game.

Where do the Kenosha Kingfish Play their Home Games? Who is the Official Mascot?

The Kingfish have been playing their home games at Simmons Field since 2014. Speaking of Simmons Field, the 3,000-capacity ballpark first opened its doors during the 1920’s. In fact, the stadium is about a 1.0-hour drive from Milwaukee (home of the MLB’s Brewers and NBA’s Bucks). In addition, Simmons Field is about a 1.5-hour drive from Beloit, Wisconsin (home of the MiLB’s Beloit Sky Carp)

The Kingfish are one of the nine Northwoods League baseball teams to reside in Wisconsin. The other eight clubs are the following: Green Bay Rockers, Madison Mallards, Wausau Woodchucks, Fond du Lac Dock Spiders, Lakeshore Chinooks, La Crosse Loggers, Eau Claire Express, and Wisconsin Rapids Rafters. The team’s official mascot is King Elvis, which fits the franchise’s Kingfish theme.
