In addition, they play in the Central Division for the Western Conference. Iowa has been an affiliate for the Minnesota Wild since 2001. The franchise was previously known as the Houston Aeros (Texas: 1994-2013) until their relocation to the Midwest. The Wild only reached the Calder Cup Playoffs once in 2019. Meanwhile, the Iowa Wolves are an NBA G-League affiliate of the Minnesota Timberwolves. In fact, they have been a farm club for the Timberwolves since 2017. The team was previously known as the Iowa Energy from 2007 until 2017. The Iowa club won the NBA D-League Championship in 2011.
