Who Are the Iowa Heartlanders? What League Do They Play in?

With the Minor League Hockey Season underway, the Iowa Heartlanders are ready to drop the puck! The Heartlanders are an ECHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild. In addition, they play in the Central Division for the Western Conference. The Heartlanders have been an affiliate for the Wild since 2021. Iowa will become the newest team in the ECHL as the club will begin play in fall 2021.

Where do the Iowa Heartlanders Play their Home Games? Who is the Official Mascot?

The Heartlanders have been playing their home games at Xtream Arena since 2021. Speaking of Xtream Arena, the 5,000-capacity arena is located not far from the University of Iowa campus (home of the Iowa Hawkeyes). The venue is also about a 0.5-hour drive from Cedar Rapids (home of Minor League Baseball’s Cedar Rapids Kernels). The arena recently finished construction in 2020. The team’s official mascot is currently to be determined.
