In addition, they play in the West Division for the International League as of 2024. For 2021, Iowa played in the Midwest division for the Triple-A East League. The team has been an MiLB affiliation club for the Cubs dating back to 1981.

The Cubs have been playing their home games at Principal Park since its inception in 1969. For the first 35 years of its existence, the ballpark was known as Sec Taylor Stadium before changing its name to Principal Park in 2004. Speaking of Principal Park, the 11,000-capacity ballpark is located in Downtown Des Moines. The ballpark is also surrounded by the Racoon River and the Des Moines River. The team’s official mascot is Cubbie Bear.
