With the Minor League Baseball Season (MiLB) underway, the Frisco RoughRiders (based in Frisco, TX) are ready to play ball! The RoughRiders are a Double-A franchise of the Texas Rangers. Also, they play in the South Division for the Double-A Central League. The RoughRiders have been an affiliate for the Rangers since its inception in 2003. The team was named after eventual U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt’s army “the RoughRiders” during the Spanish/American War in the late 19th century.

The RoughRiders have been playing their home games at Riders Field since 2003. Speaking of Riders Field, the 10,000-capacity ballpark is located near the Stonebriar Mall at the Bridges in Frisco. The venue is also about a half-hour drive from the Dallas/Arlington region. The ballpark even has a lazy river/swimming pool located at the right field area. Riders Field was formerly known as Dr. Pepper Ballpark from 2007 until 2020. The team’s official mascots are Bull Moose, Ted E. Bear, Deuce the Orange Critter and Daisy the Yellow Critter.
