The History of Fresno State Football at Bulldog Stadium

With the College Football Season around the corner, the Fresno State Bulldogs are ready for kick-off! The men in Red and Blue have been playing at Bulldog Stadium since the early-1980’s. Speaking of Bulldog Stadium, the venue can hold at least 40,000 fans in attendance. The team’s football venue is about a 10-15 minute drive from Downtown Fresno (home of Minor League Baseball’s Fresno Grizzlies). Bulldog Stadium is also located on the Fresno State University campus. The school’s football stadium is also about a 2.5-hour drive from San Jose (home of the NHL’s Sharks, MLS’ Earthquakes, and Minor League Baseball’s SJ Giants).

Since its opening, the Bulldogs football venue has witnessed some of the greatest college football players and coaches in history. Those players are the following: Pat Hill (head coach), WR KeeSean Johnson, S Derron Smith, Tim DeRuyter (head coach), and many more! The men in Red and Blue last won a Conference Championship during the 2018 season. Since 2010, the football program has played in six bowl games.
