In addition, they play in the North Division for the Carolina League. The FredNats have been a farm club for Washington since 2005. The Minor League team was formerly known as the Potomac Nationals (based in Virginia) from 2005 until their relocation in 2020.

The FredNats have been playing their home games at Virginia Credit Union Stadium since 2021. The ballpark is about a 1.5-hour drive from Potomac, VA. FredNats Ballpark is also close to the Rappahannock River. The stadium was formerly known as FredNats Ballpark from 2021 until 2022.
