With the Minor League Hockey Season underway, the Florida Everblades are ready to drop the puck! The Everblades are an ECHL affiliate of the Nashville Predators. In addition, they play in the South Division for the Eastern Conference. The Everblades have been an affiliate for the Predators since 2019. Florida previously partnered with the Carolina Hurricanes from 1998 until 2020. The Everblades won the 2012 Kelly Cup vs. the now defunct Las Vegas Wranglers. The team was named after the fact that Estero is a 1.0-hour drive from the Everglades National Park.

The Everblades have been playing their home games at Hertz Arena since 1998. Speaking of Hertz Arena, the 7,000-capacity arena is located close to the Miromar Outlets shopping complex. The venue is also about a 0.5-hour drive from Fort Myers (the Spring Training home of the Minnesota Twins and the Boston Red Sox). Hertz Arena was formerly known as Germain Arena from 2004 until 2018. The team’s official mascot is Swampee the Alligator.
