With the Minor League Baseball Season (MiLB) underway, the Fayetteville Woodpeckers (based in Fayetteville, NC) are ready to play ball! The Woodpeckers are a Single-A Team affiliate of the Houston Astros. In addition, they play in the Central Division for the Low-A East League. The Woodpeckers been a farm team for Houston since 2017.
The minor league franchise was formerly known as the Buies Creek Astros from 2017 until 2018. The team spent its first two seasons at Jim Perry Stadium (2017-2018) in Buies Creek, NC before relocating about 40 minutes to Fayetteville.
