The RedHawks have no prior Minor League affiliation with any MLB club. The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks are the only MLB-partnered independent baseball team that is based in North Dakota. However, they are not the only such independent team in the Dakota region as their division rival (Sioux Falls Canaries) plays in South Dakota.

The RedHawks have been playing their home games at Newman Outdoor Field since 1996. In fact, the stadium is also about a 3.0-hour drive from Bismarck, ND (home of Northwoods League Baseball’s Bismarck Larks). The venue served as the 2020 home for the Winnipeg Goldeyes due to the global health crisis. Newman Outdoor Field is also the home of the North Dakota State Bison College Baseball. The team’s official mascot is Hawkeye the RedHawk.
