The History of DC United Soccer at Audi Field
With the MLS Soccer Season underway, the DC United are ready for action! The Soccer Club has been playing at Audi Field since 2018. Speaking of Audi Field, the venue is currently the newest stadium in Washington DC. The stadium is located very close to Nationals Park (home of the MLB’s Washington Nationals). Audi Field is also about a 10-15 minute drive from Capital One Arena (home of the NHL’s Washington Capitals and NBA’s Washington Wizards).
Since the DC United became an MLS franchise in 1996, the team won four MLS Cups (1996, 1997, 1999, 2004). In addition, the DC squad had the best record in the league four times by winning the Supporters’ Shield (1997, 1999, 2006, 2007). Before moving to Audi Field, the soccer club played their home games at Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium.
