The History of Dayton Flyers Basketball at University of Dayton Arena

When the College Basketball Season around the corner, the Dayton Flyers are ready for tip-off! The men in red have been playing at UD Arena since the late-1960’s. Speaking of UD Arena, the venue can hold at least 13,000 fans in capacity. The Flyers basketball venue is about a 1.0-hour drive from Cincinnati (home of the MLB’s Reds, MLS Soccer’s FC Cincinnati, ECHL’s Cyclones, and NFL’s Bengals). UD Arena is also located on the University of Dayton campus. The school’s basketball stadium is also about a 1.0-hour drive from Columbus (home of the Ohio State Buckeyes, NHL’s Blue Jackets, Minor League Baseball’s Clippers, and MLS Soccer’s Columbus Crew). The men in red last played in the National Championship Game in 1967 (lost to UCLA). The Flyers have also played in four Men’s March Madness Tournament appearances since 2014.
