With the NHL Hockey season underway, the Columbus Blue Jackets are ready for puck-drop! The Blue Jackets have been playing home games at Nationwide Arena since 2000. Speaking of Nationwide Arena, the venue can hold at least 18,000 hockey fans in capacity. The team’s venue is located in the Arena District in Downtown Columbus (close to Huntington Park-home of Triple-A Baseball’s Clippers).
Nationwide Arena is also about a 10-15 minute drive from the Ohio State University campus (home of the Ohio State Buckeyes). Since the 2008-2009 season, the Blue Jackets have reached the playoffs six times (including four straight: 2017-2020). Nationwide Arena recently hosted the 2018 Women’s Final Four and the National Championship Game (Notre Dame vs. Mississippi State). The stadium also hosted the 2015 NHL All-Star Game along with the Skills Competition.
