The LumberKings are an Independent Baseball Team for the Prospect League (College Summer Baseball Organization). In addition, Clinton plays in the Great River Division for the West Conference. The LumberKings were a Single-A farm club for the Miami Marlins (2019-2020) and Seattle Mariners (2009-2018). As part of the MLB’s Minor League reorganization in 2020, the Clinton franchise became an independent baseball club.

The LumberKings are one of the two former MiLB professional baseball teams in the state of Iowa along with the Burlington Bees. NelsonCorp Field was formerly known as LumberKing Stadium (2019) and Ashford University Field (2011-2018). The team’s official mascot is Louie the LumberKing.
