The History of Cleveland Guardians Baseball at Progressive Field
With the Major League Baseball (MLB) Season underway, the Cleveland Guardians are ready to play ball! The Guardians have been playing at Progressive Field since 1994. Speaking of Progressive Field, the venue hosted the 2019 All-Star Game along with the Home Run Derby. The ballpark is located next to Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse (home of the NBA’s Cavaliers and Minor League Hockey’s Monsters). Progressive Field is also about a 5-minute drive from FirstEnergy Stadium (home of the NFL’s Browns). Since the Guardians moved to their current home in 1994, the team played in three World Series appearances: 1995, 1997, 2016. Cleveland also played in five American League Championship Series since 1995.
